Extension of ASIEM Travel Grant Applications – HGSA ASM 2026

Dear ASIEM Members,

The ASIEM Executive has reviewed the initial round of travel grant applications for the HGSA Annual Scientific Meeting in Christchurch.

We recognise that some members may not yet have received notification regarding the outcome of their abstract submissions and may therefore have delayed submitting a travel grant application.

To ensure all eligible members have an opportunity to apply, the Executive has agreed to extend the application deadline.

New closing date: Thursday 11 June 2026, 10:00 am AEST

If you have submitted an abstract to the HGSA Annual Scientific Meeting but have not yet received notification of acceptance, we encourage you to submit a travel grant application before the revised deadline. Applications can still be considered pending confirmation of abstract acceptance.

Members who have already submitted an application do not need to take any further action.

We encourage all eligible ASIEM members attending the HGSA Annual Scientific Meeting to consider applying.

ASIEM Travel Grants – Now Open (Christchurch 2026 and International Meetings)

Applications are now open for ASIEM Travel Grants to support attendance at the Christchurch HGSA ASM and ASIEM SIG Day, as well as relevant international conferences.

These grants are intended to support members to attend and actively participate in meetings that contribute to their practice in inborn errors of metabolism and to the broader ASIEM community.

Key points:

  • Open to ASIEM members who submit a high-quality abstract
  • Supports both domestic (including NZ) and international conference attendance
  • Funding is available to assist with registration, travel and accommodation costs (within defined limits)
  • Recipients will be required to submit a short report following the meeting

This year, ASIEM has been fortunate to receive the generous support of multiple sponsors, including Cortex, whose contributions have helped strengthen the Travel Grant funding pool and conference participation.

We strongly encourage members to apply and take advantage of these opportunities.
